Fabio Luisi hails from Genoa. He is the general music director of the Opernhaus Zürich, the principal conductor of the Danish National Symphony Orchestra, music director of the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, and music director designate of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, a post he will take up in 2020. From 2011-2017, Fabio Luisi was principal conductor of the Metropolitan Opera in New York, and from 2005-2013 principal conductor of the Wiener Symphoniker, as well as general music director of the Staatskapelle Dresden and the Sächsische Staatsoper (2007-2010), artistic director and principal conductor of the MDR Sinfonieorchester Leipzig (1999-2007), and music director of the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande (1997-2002). With the latter, he made numerous CD recordings (Poulenc, Respighi, Mahler, Liszt, a recording of the complete symphonic works of Arthur Honegger, and Verdi’s Jérusalem und Alzira). He is music director of the Festival della Valle d’Itria in Martina Franca (Apulia) and has appeared as guest conductor with numerous renowned ensembles, including the Philadelphia Orchestra, The Cleveland Orchestra, the NHK Tokio, the Münchener Philharmoniker, the Filarmonica della Scala, the London Symphony Orchestra, the Concertgebouw Orkest Amsterdam, and the Saito Kinen Orchestra, as well as with various prominent opera orchestras. He appeared at the Salzburg Festival with performances of Richard Strauss’ Die Liebe der Danae und Die Ägyptische Helena. His most important appearances at the Opernhaus Zürich include, among others, the new productions of three Bellini operas, as well as Rigoletto, Fidelio, Wozzeck and Verdi’s Messa da Requiem. Important CD recordings include Verdi’s Aroldo, Bellini’s I puritani and I Capuleti e i Montecchi, and the complete symphonies of Robert Schumann, as well as the symphonies and the oratorio Das Buch mit sieben Siegeln by Franz Schmidt, the largely forgotten Austrian composer. In addition, he has recorded various symphonic poems by Richard Strauss, and a lauded reading of Bruckner’s Symphony No. 3 with the Staatskapelle Dresden. His recordings of Siegfried and Götterdämmerung with the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra won Grammy awards. He received the Premio Franco Abbiati, the coveted Italian critics’ prize, in 2013, and in 2014 won the Grifo d’Oro from the city of Genoa. He was awarded the Anton Bruckner Ring by the Wiener Symphoniker, and is a Cavalier of the Italian Republic. The «Philharmonia Records» recording label, founded by the Philharmonia Zürich in 2015, has issued CD recordings of works by Berlioz, Wagner, Verdi, Rachmaninoff, Bruckner, Rimsky-Korsakov, and Frank Martin under Fabio Luisi’s musical director, as well as DVD records of Rigoletto (stage direction: Tatjana Gürbaca), Wozzeck (stage direction: Andreas Homoki), I Capuleti e i Montecchi (stage direction: Christof Loy), the Messa da Requiem (stage direction /choreography: Christian Spuck), and Das Land des Lächelns (stage direction: Andreas Homoki).

Julie Fuchs, französische Sopranistin, studierte Violine und Schauspiel in Avignon sowie Gesang am CNSM in Paris. Von 2013 bis 2015 gehörte sie zum Ensemble des Opernhauses Zürich und kehrt seither immer wieder nach Zürich zurück. Hier sang sie u.a. Morgana (Alcina), Susanna (Le nozze di Figaro), Rosane (La verità in cimento), Contessa di Folleville (Il viaggio a Reims), Fiorilla (Il turco in Italia), Norina (Don Pasquale) sowie zuletzt 2021/22 die Titelrolle in L’incoronazione di Poppea. Julie Fuchs wurde dreimal bei den Victoires de la Musique ausgezeichnet und ist Chevalier de l’ordre des Arts et des Lettres. Ihr Repertoire reicht vom Barock bis zu zeitgenössischer Musik mit einem Schwerpunkt auf Mozart und Belcanto. 2022/23 debütiert Julie Fuchs als Juliette (I Capuleti e i Montecchi) an der Opéra de Paris, als Cleopatra (Giulio Cesare) an der Oper Amsterdam und als Juliette (Roméo et Juliette) am Opernhaus Zürich. Ausserdem singt sie Norina (Don Pasquale) am Opernhaus Zürich und Poppea (L'incoronazione di Poppea) am Liceu Barcelona und auf Konzerttournee quer durch Europa. In jüngster Zeit war sie als Marie (La Fille du régiment) an der Wiener Staatsoper zu hören, als Leïla (Les Pêcheurs de perles) am Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, als Giunia (Lucio Silla) am Teatro Real Madrid, als Musetta (La bohème) in München, als La Folie (Platée) und Nannetta (Falstaff) an der Opéra de Paris, als Susanna (Le nozze di Figaro) beim Festival d’Aix-en-Provence und am Teatro Real de Madrid, als Mélisande (Pelléas et Mélisande) in Barcelona sowie als Adèle (Le comte Ory) beim Rossini Festival in Pesaro. Ihr drittes Soloalbum, Amadè, ist 2022 bei Sony erschienen.

Benjamin Bernheim studierte bei Gary Magby in Lausanne und war Mitglied des Internationalen Opernstudios und des Ensembles am Opernhaus Zürich. Der französische Tenor hat sich inzwischen als regelmässiger Gast an den renommiertesten Bühnen etabliert, u. a. an der Opéra de Paris, der Wiener und der Berliner Staatsoper und dem Royal Opera House Covent Garden. 2020 wurde er bei den Les Victoires de la Musique Awards als «Opernsänger des Jahres» ausgezeichnet und von Le Syndicat professionnel de la critique als «Musikalische Persönlichkeit des Jahres». Im selben Jahr erhielt sein Debütalbum einen «Diapason d’Or» und einen «Choc de Classica». Höhepunkte seiner bisherigen Karriere waren die Titelrolle in Faust (Opéra national de Paris, Lyric Opera of Chicago, Théâtre des Champs Elysées und Lettische Nationaloper), Roméo in Roméo et Juliette (Opéra national de Paris und Opernhaus Zürich), Rodolfo in La bohème (Opéra national de Paris, Opernhaus Zürich, Royal Opera House, Staatsoper Berlin und Wiener Staatsoper), Edgardo in Lucia di Lammermoor (Opernhaus Zürich, Wiener Staatsoper und Salzburger Festspiele) sowie Alfredo in La traviata (Teatro alla Scala, Royal Opera House, Opernhaus Zürich, Semperoper Dresden, Deutsche Oper, Opéra national de Bordeaux und Staatsoper Berlin). Er gab Liederabende u. a. bei den Salzburger Festspielen, dem Verbier Festival, beim La Grange au Lac, dem Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, der Philharmonie de Luxembourg und dem Wiener Konzerthaus. Jüngst gab er am Opernhaus Zürich sein Rollendebüt als Ruggero Lastouc in Puccinis La rondine. Benjamin Bernheim ist Exklusivkünstler der Deutschen Grammophon.
