Abstract
Next Generation
Once an insider tip, The Next Generation series has taken on a life of its own. Every other year, the dancers of the Ballet Zürich and the Junior Ballett have the opportunity to present choreographies they’ve created for the series on the Studiobühne. In doing so, they are faced with the exciting task of exploring dance from a different perspective and presenting a joint ballet evening inspired by each other. Together with their fellow dancers, the members of the company rehearse their new creations and can also experiment with stage designs and costumes. Time and again, the result is surprising experiments, clever snippets of danced moments, or sensual highlights. This «intimate format» lends itself to the intensity and choreographic diversity of such a varied ballet evening.
In order to continue to encourage and support the development of creative voices within the Ballett Zürich, Cathy Marston, the new Ballet Director, will continue the successful series of events under the title Next Generation.
